David's appointment further adds to our rapidly growing life science business and corporate development advisory practice. David Donabedian, Ph.D.


David brings to Locust Walk over a decade of operating, start up and consulting experience in the Life sciences industry. He most recently served as Vice President of Business Development at GSK's Centre of Excellence in Drug Discovery (ceedd). In this role, he was accountable for setting the ceedd new deal portfolio strategy and composition and working closely with GSK worldwide business development to establish new alliances.

Prior to the ceedd, David built a successful consultancy practice providing corporate strategy and business development services to three emerging biotechnology companies (Arsenal Medical, Galectin Therapeutics (GALT.OB) and Madeira Pharmaceuticals).

David's previous senior level positions include COO, SVP and VP of Business Development for BioChemics and Surface Logix. In both roles, David was instrumental in deal portfolio strategy, as well as developing and executing new alliances. David also worked as a Senior Manager in Accenture's health care practice leading consulting engagements for a number of big pharma clients, including the post- merger integration between GlaxoWellcome and SmithKline Beecham.

David began his career as a research scientist with Dow Chemical and Boston Scientific. At Dow, he headed a product development team specializing in developing and patenting a broad range of technologies to the life sciences industries. David holds a Ph.D. in Polymer Chemistry from the University of Massachusetts, and an MBA from the University of North Carolina's Kenan Flagler Business School.
